Errors appear in restoreFailure.out during a Salesforce restore operation even when validation rules and Apex triggers are disabled.

Symptoms

restoreFailure.out contains the following errors during a restore operation: FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION FIELD_FILTER_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION CANNOT_INSERT_UPDATE_ACTIVATE_ENTITY

restoreFailure.out is located in the jobResults folder. For example, the following is a common location for the jobResults folder: /opt/commvault/iDataAgent/jobResults/CV_JobResults/2/0/jobId/restoreFailure.out.

Causes

Some of the validation rules and Apex triggers are part of managed packages and cannot be disabled by using APIs.

Resolution

If the object records must be restored, uninstall the managed package, and then retry the restore operation.
