Access errors appear in restoreFailure.out during a Salesforce restore operation.

Symptoms

The following error appears in restoreFailure.out during a restore operation: Document record XXXXXXXXXXXXX was not updated/inserted. Error message: INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_ON_CROSS_REFERENCE_ENTITY:insufficient access rights on cross-reference id:--

restoreFailure.out is located in the jobResults folder. For example, the following is a common location for the jobResults folder: /opt/commvault/iDataAgent/jobResults/CV_JobResults/2/0/jobId/restoreFailure.out.

Causes

• The Salesforce user performing the restore operation does not have permission on the documents and folders being restored.
• The documents being restored are personal folder documents.

Resolution

• Give the Salesforce user performing the restore operation permission on the documents and folders that are being restored.
• Personal folder documents cannot be restored even by the system administrator.
