MySQL Instance Creation Fails

When you try to create a MySQL instance or update the properties of an existing MySQL instance, the operation fails.

Symptoms

When you try to create a MySQL instance or update the properties of an existing MySQL instance, the operation fails with the following error message in the MySQL logs:

shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory. mysqld is alive

Causes

Temporary files are not available in the Temp folder in the Commvault instance Base folder.

Resolution

Clean up the Temp folder at /opt/commvault/Base/Temp, and then try to create a new instance or update an existing instance again.
