ExceptionCode=INVALID_SESSION_ID; ExceptionMessage=Invalid Session ID found in SessionHeader for backups/restores

The Salesforce backup or restore operation fails with an INVALID_SESSION_ID error.

Symptoms

The following error appears during a backup or restore operation: ExceptionCode=INVALID_SESSION_ID; ExceptionMessage=Invalid Session ID found in SessionHeader for backups/restores

Resolution

In Salesforce, check the following:

• Verify that the Salesforce user used for backup and restore operations is not used by any other application.
• Verify that the following session security settings are disabled:
  • Lock sessions to the IP address from which they originated
  • Lock sessions to the domain in which they were first used
