Snapshots Taken with the Microsoft Azure Snap Engine Fail To Map

Article ID: 59831

Article Type: Troubleshooting

Last Modified:

When Azure VM update operations such as attaching a disk to a VM take a long time to complete, the following operations might fail:

Symptoms

When the operations fail, you see the following error:

CVSO::ResultCode cvso_mapSnaps Failed to map Azure disk snapshots. 0xECCC065B:{CvSnapAzureAPI::AttachAzureDiskToVM(1097)} + {CvSnapAzureAPI::SendRESTURLRequest(387)} + {CvSnapAzureAPI::PollForAsyncOperation(445)/ErrNo.1627.(Unknown error 1627)-Timed out while fetching operation status}

Causes

By default, the Commvault software waits for 1800 seconds (30 mins) for the Azure API requests to complete. The time for an API to complete might take longer for some Azure VM operations such as attaching a disk to a VM.

Resolution

To increase the time (in seconds) that the Commvault software waits for the Azure API requests, use the nAzureRESTAPIReqWaitTimeSecs additional setting.
