Error: AADSTS7000222: The provided client secret keys are expired.

An Exchange Mailbox backup job fails.

Symptoms

An Exchange Mailbox backup job fails because the application secret for the configured Azure App is expired.

The cvmaildiscover.log or AdmailboxMonitor.log contains the following error: Error: AADSTS7000222: The provided client secret keys are expired.

Causes

The application secret for the configured Azure App is expired.

Resolution

1. From the Azure portal, create a new application secret. For more information about creating a new application secret, see Option 2: Create a new application secret.
2. From the Metallic or Command Center portal, update the new application secret: 
   1. Go to the Configuration tab of your Exchange app.
   2. In the Exchange connection settings, click the action button, and then click Edit.
   3. In the Application secret text box, enter the new application secret, and then click Save.
