Some backup jobs are skipped because they are aged on destination copy

Symptoms

Auxiliary copy jobs completes with the following warning message:

Some backup jobs are skipped because they are aged on destination copy

The values for the following fields in the Auxiliary Copy Job Details dialog box will not match.

Causes

If the backups that are to be copied during an auxiliary copy operation have already aged on the destination copy, then the auxiliary copy operation completes with "Some backup jobs are skipped because they are aged on destination copy" warning message.

Resolution

  1. On the ribbon of the CommCell Console, click the Storage tab, and then click Media Management.
  2. Click the Data Aging tab.
  3. In the Disable jobs for Auxiliary Copy that met its retention box, specify 0 to disable the parameter. When parameter is disabled, all jobs available on source copy will be copied to destination copies, even if retention is met on destination copies, and are pruned from destination copy only once they are available.
  4. Click OK.
