Delay reasons for pruning in the Data Aging report displays this error
The Delay Reasons for Pruning column in the Data Aging report displays the following:
Aged data on the mount path cannot be pruned because all device controllers for the mount path are offline
With the latest service pack installed, you can now configure micro pruning in cloud storage libraries. In the case where multiple MediaAgents are writing to the same cloud storage library, and none of the MediaAgents is set as the preferred MediaAgent, then the Data Aging report displays this message.
You can use the QS_SetDeviceControllerProps qscript to set the preferred MediaAgent as follows:
qoperation execscript -sn SetDeviceControllerProps –si operation –si LibraryName –si MountPathName –si MediaAgentName(clientName)
Where:
Operation - SetPruner or GetPruner
SetPruner - Use the SetPruner operation to set a MediaAgent as the preferred MediaAgent to prune the data from the cloud storage library.
GetPruner - Use the GetPruner operation to discover the name of the preferred MediaAgent that is configured to prune the data from the cloud storage library.
