Error code: 82:129 The job is pending because the remote end has closed network connection unexpectedly

Article ID: DD0002 Backup job starts and status changes from running to pending with network connection error.

Symptom

Job displays Error Code 82:129 The job is pending because the remote end has closed network connection unexpectedly

CVD.log states:  “StartCVDMessageHandlerThread(): socket 8. Dropped.  Error: Process PID ##### is not Alive.  Failed to stop all pipelines for Job, JobID ####”.

Cvlaunchd.log on Client says: “..\Simpana\iDataAgent\FSBack terminated due to signal 11 socket send failed: broken pipe”.

No Firewall enabled.  No name resolution issues.  Client on same patch level as CommServe server.

Cause

Deduplication signature database on client is corrupted. 

Resolution

1.Navigate to …\Simpana\iDataAgent\jobResults\CV_CLDB.  Subdirectories under \CV_CLDB\ are jobs which contain dedupe data. 

2.Open each subdirectory and verify the State.xml file has content.  If State.xml is empty, move entire subdirectory to a temporary directory. Rerun the broken backup job.  It will recreate the subdirectory with all contents.
