Deduplicated Backup job might go pending if the DDB volume has insufficient free disk space.

Symptoms

The deduplicated backup job might go pending with the following error message:

Error Code 61:1264
There is insufficient free disk space on the SIDB index path location.

If the DDB is also located on the same volume as one of the Disk Library's mount paths and the mount path is very low on disk space then this will prevent the job from spilling over to another available mount path in the Disk Library.

Causes

The volume hosting the DDB is running out of disk space. The threshold for deduplicated backup jobs is that if the space on the disk where the DDB resides is less than 10% then the jobs will fail.

Resolution

When this error occurs, ensure that the DDB location is hosted on a LUN or Volume with sufficient space to host the DDB.

Depending on your environment, either increase the size of the LUN or relocate the DDB to a storage location that meets the performance requirements associated with Deduplication operations. To ensure optimal performance for deduplication operations, the disk hosting the DDB needs to satisfy the specifications mentioned in Deduplication Building Block Guide.
