The Exchange 2003 Database Agent restore operation does not have an option to restore a database as a file. However, you can still restore an Exchange 2003 database as a file by changing the Agent’s Exchange version to 2007 or newer and using a destination client with a 64-bit Exchange Database Agent installed. Once the database file has been restored, you can use the Exchange Offline Mining Tool to locate and restore individual email message from the restored database files.
