Symptoms

Live browse operations or out-of-place restore operations fail. The following error message appears in the Microsoft Event Viewer snap-in error:

the log file sector size does not match the current volume’s sector size (-546)

Causes

The disk sector size where the Exchange server log files are located does not match the disk sector size of the restore location.
