Completed w/ one or more errors

Backup jobs display completed with one or more errors.

Symptoms

Backup operations are suspended in the job controller with one or more error messages.

Causes

This issue occurs due to one of the following:

• Some of the Virtual Machines may not be supported for granular recovery. For example, Virtual Machines with certain Unix file systems are not supported for granular recovery.
• Volume Shadow Copy creation of one or more Virtual Machines may have failed.

Resolution

Solution1:

Identify the Virtual Machines with Unix File Systems and the ones with Windows File System and create separate subclients for each of them.

Solution2:

Identify the Virtual Machine that is causing the backup failure by looking at the application, system and Hyper-V Virtual Machines events in Windows Event Viewer.
