Virtual Server Agent file restore operations are slow

Article ID: HPV0030 Antivirus applications can drastically slow file restore operations, if the antivirus applications are not configured to exclude Commvault files.

During restore operations for guest files and guest folders, there might be a significant delay between writing extents and closing the write cache.

This issue can occur with any hypervisor when you use live browse or live file recovery, or with any agent that performs block-level write operations.

This issue can occur when antivirus software is installed on a proxy or a MediaAgent, but antivirus exclusions for Commvault  files are not configured.

On all proxies and MediaAgents where antivirus software is installed, add antivirus exclusions as described in Recommended Antivirus Exclusions for Windows.
