Error Code 82:158 The job is pending because of network connection

Article ID: NWK0001 Advisory error reporting network issues between client and MediaAgent are causing job to go to pending/restart state.


Job goes to pending state showing Error code 82:158  The job is pending [reason] with [reason] being:

  • Network receive failed.  The network connection was lost unexpectedly, or
  • The remote end had closed network connection unexpectedly



Network communication between the client and the MediaAgent hosts has been interrupted or services on MediaAgent are not responding.


  • Verify network connectivity between client and MediaAgent hosts.  
  • Recycle Commvault services on the MediaAgent.  
  • Resume/Restart job.
