Cannot Connect to Virtual Machine

Causes

Potential causes of this error include the following:

• On the Windows OS, remote desktop settings are disabled
• On the Linux OS, SSH ports are not open
• Firewall is enabled, but the RDP or SSH port does not allow traffic on the correct ports

Resolution

To resolve this issue, verify that remote desktop settings are enabled on your computer. Allow access to the following ports if a firewall is enabled on your computer:

• On Windows: port 3389
• On Linux: SSH port 22
