Apache Tomcat Is Consuming Too Much Memory

Apache Tomcat is consuming too much memory and is affecting the performance of other Commvault operations.

Symptoms

The Web Console computer is unresponsive.

Resolution

  1. On the Web Console computer, run the following command: %COMMVAULT_INSTALL_DIR%\Apache\bin\tomcat6w //ES//GXTomcatInstance001
    The Commvault Tomcat Service Properties dialog box appears.
  2. On the Java tab, in the Maximum memory pool box, set the memory to no more than one-eighth (12.5 percent) of the total memory on the computer.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Restart the Tomcat services on the Web Console computer.
