A Large Amount of Data Is Backed Up During an Incremental Backup
Article ID: WFS0012 The size of an incremental block-level backup may be large.
You may notice that a lot of data is backed up during an incremental backup.
The size of the backups may be large due to the following reasons:
- Defragmentation may have been run on the volume recently.
- You are backing up applications, such as Exchange Databases
Including applications, such as Exchange Databases, in your backup, creates highly fragmented volumes that result in more data being backed up.
- The volume is highly fragmented.
Make sure that you identify and resolve the possible causes before you start your next backup job.
