The first MySQL backup operation on a new subclient fails with Error Code: [87:27]

Symptoms

The first MySQL backup operation on a new subclient fails. The following error appears in the MySqlIfind.log file on the client computer where the MySQL Agent is installed. The MySqlIfind.log file is located at software_installation_path\Log Files.

Error Code: [87:27] Description: No database has been selected for backup. Either the subclient content is empty or database in subclient is in invalid state.

Causes

The new subclient that you are trying to run a backup operation on does not have a MySQL database assigned to it.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:

• Enable automatic database discovery at the instance level. See Enabling or Disabling Automatic Database Discovery.
• Manually discover and assign databases to the new subclient. See Manually Discovering Databases.
