ERROR CODE 14:113 Index cache restore failed. Cannot access index cache.

Backup or Restore job fails when attempting to restoring index.

Symptoms

Backup or restore jobs go pending at 0% with Error Code: [14:113] Description: Index cache restore failed. Cannot access index cache.

Causes

Most probable cause is lack of space on the Index Cache volume. Other probable cause is the media containing the index required is corrupt or not available.

Resolution

Verify the Index Cache volume has sufficient space. Recommend a minimum of 500MB free disk space be available.  Actual needed free disk space will vary depending on size of index. See BOL for recommended Index Cache disk space.

If error code appears for incremental backup job, run full backup to initiate a new index.
