Content Indexing Jobs in "Waiting" State with Error

When the index size of the Search Engine reaches 50% of the available disk space, the Search Engine is automatically placed in search only mode. Search only mode allows existing content index data to be searched, but no additional data can be indexed by the Search Engine.

Symptoms

Content indexing jobs go into a Waiting state and the following error description appears: Cannot find Search Engine to Index data for this storage policy. Please add a new node or use other Search Engine to content index data.

Resolution

To continue running content indexing jobs, you can either:

• Increase the available disk space for the index directory on the Search Engine in search only mode.
• Use a different Search Engine for the content indexing job.
• Add an additional Search Engine or Search Engine node for content indexing.
