This article describes the cause and solution to Error Coce 91:4 Virtual machine [...] was not found. Please verify that the virtual machine still exists and that the host is in the connected state. If the virtual machine does not exist remove it from the subclient. If the virtual machine does exist reselect the virtual machine and re-add it to the subclient
Symptoms
Virtual Agent backups will fail with this error listing a virtual machine(s) not found during the operation.
Causes
As the error indicates, there are issues reaching to the virtual machine(s) defined in the subclient content.
Potential causes are:
Virtual Machines that no longer exist
Virtual Machines not in a running state
Permission issues for service account
Resolution
To resolve this error, check the subclient named in the error and confirm that it exists and is online and available.
If the vm exists, ensure it is online and available on the network (remote desktop from the Media Agent if possible)
If it is available and online, remove it from the subclient content and re-add it to rediscover, then run a Full backup.
If the vm does not exist exist, check with the server owner to see if it needs to be restored
If the vm no longer exists and does not need protection as a result, remove it from the subclient content and run a Full backup
