Verifying the connectivity to IBM FlashSystem when CIM CONNECTION ERRORS occur

IBM FlashSystem indicates a CIM connection error.

Causes

A connection error.

Resolution

1. Download the most recent version of Java and set the JAVA_HOME in environment variables.
2. To download and unzip the CimNavigator tool, go to CIMNav.
3. From the command line, run the CimNavigator tool, and then configure the server. To configure the server, you need the following data:

• The name or the IP address of a system hosting a Common Information Model Object Manager (CIMOM)
• Use the http or https protocol
• A namespace to connect to
• A CIMOM type

4. Verify that the IP address and hostname are the same as the ManagementIP address or the host name of the storage array.
5. Use the username and password of the array, with administrative privileges.
