A backup copy job from an Oracle or Oracle RAC snapshot backup fails because of an Oracle process crash.
The Oracle RMAN log file contains errors like the following:
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-03002: failure of backup command at [date_and_time]
RMAN-00600: internal error, arguments [13450] [DC] [158] [] []
The RMAN-00600 error indicates that an Oracle crash has occurred. This is an internal Oracle issue in Oracle's code and is a result of having the "section size" setting enabled in the subclient.
As a workaround, remove the "section size" setting from the subclient and restart the backup copy job. The section size is defined in the subclient's Properties window > Advanced tab > Backup Arguments tab.
If you would like to find out if Oracle has released an update to fix this problem, you can open a support ticket with Oracle.
