Web server stops in the CommCell environment that has Feature Release 11.24 or a more recent version installed

If the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle 2.1 is uninstalled from the CommCell environment that has Feature Release 11.24 or a more recent version installed, the Web Server stops.

Symptoms

The Web Server stops, and the following error message appears:

HTTP Error 500.19 – Internal Server Error “The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid”

Causes

The Web Server stops because the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle 2.1 is uninstalled from the CommCell environment that has Feature Release 11.24 or a more recent version installed.

Resolution

Workaround I: Override the ASP.NET Core

  1. Go to the %windir%/System32/inetsrv/config directory, and then open the applicationHost.config file.

  2. Under <ConfigSections>, locate the <sectionGroup name=”system.webServer”> element, and then add the <section name= “aspNetCore” overrideModeDefault=”Allow”> element.

Workaround II: Repair the ASP.NET Core Repair the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle 3.1.
