Commvault continues to innovate with a new Platform Release (formerly ‘Feature Release’ or 'Service Pack') every 6 months. Platform Releases contain support for new workloads as well as enhanced performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

If you are using an unsupported release, our support team will only be able to provide limited 'best effort' support. We will endeavor to resolve your issue, however, cannot provide new features, changes, or enhancements to the software. In addition, security updates for Commvault and related 3rd party dependencies may become out-of-date for unsupported releases.

Every year, Commvault releases a new Long-Term Support (LTS) release, designated by an 'E' in the name, for example 2022E. These releases provide a 3-year supported lifespan and allow you to stay up to date with bugfixes. Interim releases are supported for 12 months and include new workloads and features. It is also recommended that you periodically apply Maintenance Releases to ensure your CommCell remains highly performant with all the latest fixes and updates that will keep your environment running smoothly.

New platform and maintenance releases can be downloaded from the Commvault Store or the Support Portal.
