Microsoft Teams backup or restore fails with Error [28:535] Tokens expired for app IDs: [xxx] reacquire tokens from the configuration page. Error Code: AADSTS53003

In some scenarios, when performing a Microsoft Teams backup job, one of the following errors appear:

• "Tokens expired for app IDs: [xxx] reacquire tokens from the configuration page."
• Error Code: AADSTS53003

Symptoms

Microsoft Teams backup or restore job fails

Causes

Microsoft Teams backup relies on a token provided by the Microsoft API. Occasionally, this token can expire, resulting in an authentication failure that causes the "Tokens expired for app IDs" error.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must refresh the token from the Microsoft Teams configuration page.

1. Navigate to Office365 [Click Protect>> Office365 >> Apps Tab >> Application]
2. Click Configuration tab
3. Under Connection Settings, click the Action button next to the Azure app and Click Acquire Token
