Symptoms
Deduplicated Backup operations are unable to run and the following error is shown: Deduplication DB access path [ ] on MediaAgent [ ] is offline/full
Causes
The deduplication database has gone offline because the minimum free space for the DDB access path has been reached.
Resolution
Expand the DDB hosting drive to have more space
Before you expand the DDB hosting drive, make sure that Commvault services are stopped gracefully. After CV services have been stopped, expand the drive, and then start the Commvault services.
Move the DDB to an alternative location that has more space
Run the Move Partition operation to move the DDB to an alternative location with more free space.
Compact the DDB
The DDB can be compacted in attempt regain additional space. The compaction process, however, requires additional space for the operation to run. The DDB Compaction process can be found here.
