VAIO filter installation fails with CertificateNotTrustedFault issue

If the Commvault web server has an untrusted SSL certificate, the VAIO filter installation fails.
Symptoms
The VAIO filter installation fails, and the following snippets appear:

Causes
The VAIO filter installation fails when the SSL certificate that is used on the Commvault has any of the following issues:
- Mismatch in the hostname
- Invalid certificate
- Self-signed certificate
- Not signed by any of the root CA certificate
