Verify Connection Status Check Errors for SharePoint Online Custom-Configured Apps

While checking the permissions for a custom-configured app, using the Verify connection operation, the status displays "Incomplete permissions".  However, these permissions are not required, and backups run without them.

Symptoms

In the SharePoint connection settings tile for the SharePoint app, the Azure app Status displays Incomplete permissions, which include the following:

• SharePoint, User.Read.All
• SharePoint, Sites.FullControl.All

Causes

The software checks for these permissions, but they are not required for backups to function.

Resolution

If the error displays missing permissions that are not listed in the Commvault Cloud documentation, then you can ignore the message. For a list of minimum required permissions, see Request and Grant Permissions to Azure APIs for the Azure App for SharePoint Online.

You can ignore warnings about any missing permissions that are not listed in the Commvault Cloud documentation. Backup operations will continue to complete successfully without these permissions.
