Starting October 15, 2024, Microsoft will require all users to use multifactor authentication (MFA) to sign into the Azure portal. This change affects Commvault's ability to configure app registrations using the Express Configuration, authorize apps from within existing Office 365 apps, and create new Office 365 clients and Azure AD clients in the Command Center.

This applies to Office 365 Apps (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, Teams), Azure AD (Entra ID), and Project Online Site protection using the SharePoint Office 365 app.

Causes

Resolution

Due to this change, you must utilize the Custom Configuration toolkit when adding a new app registration. There is also a Custom configuration toolkit that will help simplify the process. This toolkit can be downloaded while adding a new app registration as part of the custom configuration steps:
